What is a folding carton with automatic bottom?
These special folding boxes have an automatic bottom with lid flap and tuck flap. Like all our folding boxes, they are delivered folded flat. However, the bottom does not need to be tucked and glued - it is already glued and will automatically straighten up when you press the diagonal corners together when setting up.
This saves time during assembly and thus during filling. Because of the time saving, these bases are also called "flash bases". So if you have to set up and fill a large quantity of cartons, the FEFCO 0713 folding cartons are an ideal choice. They are a true efficiency master and optimize your internal processes.

Many variants and configuration options7
In our store you have a wide range of options to customize your folding box exactly according to your wishes. Three different types of corrugated cardboard are available to you, the E-flute, the B-flute or the double-wall EB-flute.
Furthermore, you are free to decide on the size of your folding box within certain limits. We also offer additional finishing options such as protective varnish or protective film.
In terms of dimensions, we can offer you a range of lengths from 85 to 600 millimeters. You can configure the Width between 85 and 400 millimeters, the height between 100 and 500 millimeters.
The freely selectable sizes have the advantage that you can individually adapt your packaging to the dimensions of your product. Moreover, you even have the possibility to make changes when your article is developed further. Please note that the dimensions refer to the inside of your folding box. -

The perfect flute for your folding box
For the production of our folding boxes with automatic bottom we use corrugated cardboard. This consists of a corrugated cardboard web glued between two smooth cardboard webs. This creates small air cushions due to the crests and valleys of the corrugations, which make the corrugated board extremely stable - and at a very low dead weight.
At Palamo you have the choice between three types of corrugations: E-flute, B-flute or EB-flute. The latter is a so-called double flute. Here two single flute cardboard boxes are glued together with a smooth intermediate wall.
This combination creates a material that combines the properties of the single flute cardboard boxes used. Double flute cardboard is mostly used as shipping or product packaging for heavier goods. -
Single wall corrugated board: E-flute
This type of corrugated board is also called fine or microwave. In addition to this category, there are other variants such as mini, medium, coarse or imperial flute. All these designations refer to the height of the flutes and the distances between them. The larger the waves and the wider the spacing, the larger the resulting air cushions. The larger the air cushions, the more extensive the buffering effect and stability.
However, as the resistance increases, so does the unevenness of the surface. The more uneven the surface, the more difficult it is to print on it. A coarse or imperial wave has so many irregularities that it is very difficult to print on. Because of the resulting dents, the printed image can become deformed and will not be displayed correctly.
For cartons that need to be printed, fine E-flute is therefore an ideal choice. At Palamo, this material has a thickness of 1.5 millimeters and can be loaded with up to 7 kilograms. You can get E-flute from us in white or brown.
Single wall corrugated board: B-flute
The B-flute is characterized by the fact that it consists of higher waves than the E-flute. This results in a larger air cushion and better stability. Even though the surface of the B-flute is not quite as smooth as that of the E-flute, it can still be printed on well. However, it scores points above all for its higher load-bearing capacity.
We offer the B-flute in a thickness of 3 millimeters and with a maximum load-bearing capacity of 14 kilograms. It is available in white or brown.
Double wall corrugated board: EB-flute
If you need a material that is suitable for heavy goods but still prints very well, then EB-flute is the best choice. As the name suggests, this flute consists of a combination of the E- with the B-flute.
The more stable B-flute is used as the inner wall. The easily printable E-flute in turn forms the outer wall of the construction. Both corrugations are glued to a smooth intermediate wall and thus become an inseparable unit.
The combination of high stability and very good printability is particularly important for product packaging that is also to be suitable for shipping. Here, manufacturers not only want their goods to be securely packaged, but also to showcase them with appealing designs. EB-flute offers precisely these properties.
The stability is demonstrated by the values that characterize this material. Thus, the EB-flute at Palamo has a thickness of 4.5 millimeters, which results from adding the B and E flute . The maximum load capacity is 32 kilograms - so you can use this material to ship heavier products safely and without any problems.

High-quality and protective - the finishing options at Palamo
With us, you can configure your folding carton the way it's best for you. This includes our finishing options, which you can select as an option. The varnishwhich is applied to your folding box by means of a special print varnish, protects the outside of the packaging from scratches and tears.
The material becomes more robust and durable and withstands external influences even better. Another positive effect is the enhancement of the printed image. The print varnish makes details stand out even more and colors shine a little brighter. It doesn't matter whether you choose a matte or glossy varnish .
Another way to protect your folding carton with automatic bottom against scratches or tears is to apply a transparent laminate. This finish has the same properties, but is a bit more robust again. The outside of the carton is laminated with a film. The protective film and packaging thus form an inseparable unit. The carton is thus optimally protected and your print image is also enhanced.
Incidentally, there is another laminate variant for our folding cartons, the so-called softtouch. It offers your customers a special feel, a bit like leather. -
