What you should know about FEFCO-0201 cartons
The FEFCO 0201 folding carton is the standard folding carton that you surely already know as a packaging solution. These folding cartons are packages with sturdy bottom and lid flaps that you can close with adhesive tape or parcel tape.
As the name of this packaging solution already tells you, many manufacturers deliver the cartons flat or folded and only erect and then glue them on site by the respective user. This saves space during the delivery process and thus ensures efficiency.
The folding boxes are especially useful for sending products. Depending on the choice of material, you can send lighter or heavier items to your customers safely and with high quality packaging. The folding boxes are a guarantee that your goods will not be damaged on the way.

Simple handling
In principle, the folding cartons are very simple design: The cartons are punched from one piece of cardboard. According to FEFCO standard 0201, these packaging materials are equipped with a total of four flaps that are attached along the base and lid opening.
You must fold these inwards when setting up and closing your folding box. Note: Always fold the closures of the wide side first. Only then do you take care of the closures on the long side. This approach is enormously important for stability.
Folding boxes are generally characterized by low material consumption in production, low dead weight, easy handling and a wide range of design options. In addition, they offer excellent protective properties with regard to moisture and dirt. They are robust and stable, making them particularly suitable for sensitive and fragile goods.

Here you can choose between cartons in white and brown for the interior and exterior surfaces. You are free to determine the format within certain limits. As additional options we offer you printing and coating of your folding box.
When designing your folding box according to FEFCO 0201 you have access to a wide range of possible sizes. Within a certain range, you can determine the length, Width and height yourself, which means that you can optimally adapt the packaging solution to the dimensions of your product.
You can configure the length to your desired value between 50 and 700 millimeters. For Width the possible range is 50 to 500 millimeters, for the height again 50 to 600 millimeters.
Your cardboard is unprinted for the time being. You can therefore decide specifically what your desired print design should look like and what information or advertising messages you would like to place on it. We print your desired design on the basis of a four-color Euroscale.
In addition, we coat your folding carton for you on request with varnish or apply protective laminate to the surface. You can choose between a glossy or a matte version.
Palamo also offers you a special service: If you want to get a more accurate and realistic impression of our folding boxes before making your final decision, you can order samples from us.
Samples are boxes that we have already produced - you can get them from us for free. Samples, on the other hand, are boxes that you already personalize in the Smart Configurator. Set the number of samples to 1 and we will charge you with your first order of the corresponding folding box from Palamo.

Our helpful professional tips for your material decision
Our single wall folding cartons made of E-flute should preferably always be used when your packaged goods weigh no more than 7 kg. However, we also have a single-wall version in our portfolio, the B-flute , which can be loaded with up to 14 kg. For a higher weight of up to 32 kilograms, you can alternatively use our double-wall version (EB-flute) as an optimal packaging and storage solution.
In addition, you should keep the edge crush resistance and the stacking height in mind when shipping on pallets. In order to fit as many Palamo folding cartons as possible on a pallet, the edge crush resistance must be as high as possible. This will ensure the stability of the sidewalls of your folding box solutions.
If the weight of each packed product is below 5 kg, you can stack single-wall folding boxes up to 150 cm high on a pallet. If the pallet stacking height is more than 150 cm, we recommend using our double-wall or twin-wall versions.
